HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT?
SFPD
The Special Forces Prepatory Detachment (SFPD) is a detachment of 2/19TH SF Ohio and the drills consist of a 4 day (MUTA 8) event conducted every other month, which assesses your potential as a Special Forces Assessment and Selection (SFAS) candidate. Soldiers from neighboring Ohio states can attend SFPD drills with permission from their home units. The SFPD drills are for currently serving members of the military.
PHYSICAL
How well prepared you are? You don't need to be in "Selection" shape when you arrive, but you need to be well on the road to an extremely high level of fitness. You should show up prepared to conduct an APFT, 5 mile timed run, 12 mile ruck, and most of your time under a ruck performing various events, both individual and as a team. You should not show up to an SFPD drill to test new boots, or put a ruck on for the first time. You will be evaluated on your physical capabilities, but also how well prepared.
MENTAL
While you need to have good physical conditioning, your mental strength will definitely be tested. You can expect to be evaluated on your ability to make decisions while leading peers, your ability to keep emotions in check under little sleep and at a caloric deficit, and how well you work in a team environment.
